ऐसा इसलिये है क्योंकि, मानव के मन की अंतर्निहित सीमाओं के कारण, केवल तथ्यों का ज्ञान प्राप्त कर पाना ही संभव है, तथ्यों के नीचे स्थित वास्तविकता ('परम') का नहीं. अतः विज्ञान और धर्म दोनों को यह बात स्वीकार कर लेनी चाहिये कि 'समस्त तथ्यों में यह सर्वाधिक निश्चित है कि ब्रह्मांड में हमें जो शक्ति दिखाई देती है, व पूर्णतः अगम्य है।
