2. In 1982, a plan to reintroduce the Brotherly Villages Boat Race was discussed by senior local officials, the traders of the Wang Thong Market, farmer organizations and the abbot of Wat Bang Saphan to promote the unity of the community.

En 1982, un projet pour relancer la course fut mis sur pied par l'administration locale, les commerçants du marché de Wang Thong, les organisations agricoles et le supérieur du monastère de Bang Saphan pour promouvoir l'unité de la communauté.

Or again their aim may be to bring together, for the purpose of listening to and meditating on the Word, for the sacraments and the bond of the agape, groups of people who are linked by age, culture, civil state or social situation: married couples, young people, professional people, etc.; people who already happen to be united in the struggle for justice, brotherly aid to the poor, human advancement.

His passing represents a great loss for the brotherly people of Malaysia and for all our countries, and it saddens me to express, on behalf of the member States of the Asian Group and on behalf of my own country- the Syrian Arab Republic- our deepest and most sincere condolences to the King's bereaved family, to the Government and the people of Malaysia, and to Ambassador Hasmy Agam, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations, and all members of his Mission

Au nom des États membres du Groupe des États d'Asie et au nom de mon propre pays, la République arabe syrienne, je transmets nos condoléances les plus profondes et les plus sincères à la famille endeuillée du Roi, au Gouvernement et au peuple malaisiens, à l'Ambassadeur Hasmy Agam, Représentant permanent de la Malaisie auprès de l'ONU, ainsi qu'à tous les membres de sa mission
