Im Namen der Fraktion Union für das Europa der Nationen möchte ich dem Berichterstatter für die präzise Darstellung dieses komplexen Problems danken. Um es zu lösen, bedarf es einer drastischen Verringerung der Bereiche, die von Armut, Arbeitslosigkeit und sozialer Ausgrenzung bestimmt werden.

19. With regard to the most tangible issues that you raised, the agenda of reforms, I should like to express my agreement with you, in that the most important thing we can do is to make our message more specific and to give primacy to political debates.

Im Hinblick auf die von Ihnen angesprochenen konkreteren Themen, d.h. den Reformfahrplan, möchte ich dahingehend meine Übereinstimmung mit Ihnen zum Ausdruck bringen, dass es vor allem darum geht, unsere Botschaft zu konkretisieren und den politischen Debatten Vorrang einzuräumen.

20. Equally, I should like to say to all the hospitaliers, the brancardiers and the carers who come from every diocese in France and from further afield, and who throughout the year attend the sick who come on pilgrimage to Lourdes, how much their service is appreciated.

Ebenso möchte ich dem Aufnahme- und Empfangspersonal, den Krankenträgern und den Begleitern, die aus allen Diözesen Frankreichs und auch von noch weiter her kommen und das ganze Jahr über den kranken Lourdes-Pilgern beistehen, sagen, wie wertvoll ihr Dienst ist.
