2. 기뻐하라 너희 주는 왕이시라

Your Lord and King adore!

3. 13 또 은총의 손길이 너희 위에 극히 기쁜 미소를 지은지라, 너희가 많은 부를 얻었으되, 너희 중 몇몇이 너희 형제들의 것보다 더 풍성하게 얻었음으로 인하여, 너희가 너희 마음의 교만 중에 ᄀ자고하여지며, 너희 의복의 값짐으로 인하여 목을 뻣뻣하게 하고 고개를 높이 쳐들며, 너희가 너희 형제들보다 낫다 생각하여 그들을 핍박 하는도다.

13 And the hand of providence hath smiled upon you most pleasingly, that you have obtained many riches; and because some of you have obtained more abundantly than that of your brethren ye are alifted up in the pride of your hearts, and wear stiff necks and high heads because of the costliness of your apparel, and persecute your brethren because ye suppose that ye are better than they.

“Adroitly you set aside the commandment of God in order to retain your tradition.

Your images, the star of your god, whom you made for yourselves,

9. 그들은 “너희 영혼을 위하여 경성하기를 자기가 회계할 자인 것 같이” 행동한다.

Well, they are “keeping watch over your souls as those who will render an account.”

10. 그렇지 않고 그는 “너희 마음을 강퍅케 하지 말라”는 경고를 인용합니다.

Rather, he quotes the warning, “Do not harden your hearts.”

17 aO ye fair ones, how could ye have departed from the ways of the Lord!

14. 여호와께서는 이 소수로 ‘내가 너희 백성을 구원하리라’고 약속하셨읍니다.—사사 7:2-7.

By these few, Jehovah promised, “I shall save you people.” —Judges 7:2-7.

15. 달리 번역하면 “그가 기우는 담, 무너지려는 돌담인 양 너희 모두가 그렇게 할 것이냐?”

Or possibly, “All of you, as if he were a leaning wall, a stone wall ready to collapse.”

16. 바울은 “오늘날 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든 ··· 너희 마음을 강퍅케 하지 말라”고 말하였다.

Paul said: “‘Today if you people listen to his own voice, do not harden your hearts. . . .’”

17. 이와 유사한 누가의 기록에 따르면, 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “너희 아버지의 자비하심 같이 너희도 자비하라.”

Luke’s parallel account records Jesus’ words: “Continue becoming merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

18. 6 참으로 오늘날 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든, 너희 마음을 완악하게 하지 말라. 너희가 어찌 ᄀ죽고자 하느냐?

6 Yea, today, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts; for why will ye adie?

19. 시편 필자는 이렇게 말한다. “오 너희 의로운 자들아, 여호와 안에서 기뻐하고 그분의 거룩한 기념에 감사를 드려라.”

The psalmist says: “Rejoice in Jehovah, O you righteous ones, and give thanks to his holy memorial.”

20. “우리가 너희 가운데서 유순한 자 되어 유모가 자기 자녀를 기름과 같이 하였으니 우리가 이같이 너희를 사모하[였느니라.]”

So, [we had] a tender affection for you.”

21. “유다와 예루살렘 거민들아 내 말을 들을찌어다 너희는 너희 하나님 여호와를 신뢰하라 그리하면 견고히 서리라 그 선지자를 신뢰하라 그리하면 형통하리라.”

Put faith in Jehovah your God that you may prove yourselves of long duration.

22. 아픈 사람들도 강제로 일을 해야 하였으며, 그러는 한편 감독관들은 “너희 하나님이 너희를 도와줄 것이다”라고 조롱의 말을 퍼붓곤 하였다.

Those sick were still forced to work, while supervisors tauntingly told them, “Your God will help you.”

23. 14 너희 가운데 ᄀ간음한 남자와 여자가 있었나니, 그 중 몇은 너희에게서 돌이켜 떠났고 다른 자들은 너희와 함께 머물러 있으나 이후에 드러나리라.

14 There were among you aadulterers and adulteresses; some of whom have turned away from you, and others remain with you that hereafter shall be revealed.

24. 우리는 ‘아벨’과 ‘에녹’이 바라보았고 또 ‘노아’ 시대에 전영되었던 시대에 살고 있읍니다. 예수께서는 “이런 일이 되기를 시작하거든 일어나 머리를 들라. 너희 구속이 가까왔느니라.

We are living in the day looked forward to by Abel and Enoch, and foreshadowed by the days of Noah.

25. 예수께서 “너희는 너희 전통을 지키기 위하여 교묘하게 하나님의 계명을 버리고 만다”고 말씀하신 바와 같습니다.—마가 7:5-9, 새번역; 마태 15:1-9.

Hence, instead of being “a fence around the Law” to protect it, their traditions weakened the Law and made it void, just as Jesus said: “Adroitly you set aside the commandment of God in order to retain your tradition.” —Mark 7:5-9; Matthew 15:1-9.

26. “수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 ··· 그러면 너희 마음[영혼, 신세]이 쉼을 얻으리니 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라.”—마태 11:28-30.

For my yoke is kindly and my load is light.” —MATTHEW 11:28-30.

27. 13 그러면 이제 나의 사랑하는 형제들, 이스라엘의 집에 속한 모든 자와 너희 모든 땅 끝이여, 내가 티끌에서부터 ᄀ외치는 자의 음성으로 너희에게 말하노니, 저 큰 날이 이르기까지 잘 있으라.

13 And now, my beloved brethren, all those who are of the house of Israel, and all ye ends of the earth, I speak unto you as the voice of one acrying from the dust: Farewell until that great day shall come.

28. ...... 이것이 너희 마음의 원하는 바일진대 주께서 너희에게 그의 영을 더욱 풍성하게 부어 주시도록, 너희가 그를 섬기며 그의 계명을 지키기로 그와 성약을 맺었다는 그의 앞에서의 증거로서, 주의 이름으로 침례 받음에 너희가 꺼릴 것이 무엇이 있느냐?”

“... If this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?”

29. “서서 진리로 너희 허리 띠를 띠고 의의 흉배를 붙이고 평안의 복음의 예비한 것으로 신을 신고 모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 가지고 이로써 능히 악한 자의 모든 화전을 소멸하고 구원의 투구와 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라.

Above all things, take up the large shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the wicked one’s burning missiles.

30. (에스더 2:13, 15-17) 에스더는 베드로의 다음과 같은 말을 잘 나타낸 예이다. “너희 단장은 머리를 꾸미고 금을 차고 아름다운 옷을 입는 외모로 하지 말고 오직 마음에 숨은 사람을 온유하고 안정한 심령의 썩지 아니할 것으로 하라 이는 하나님 앞에 값진 것이니라.”

(Esther 2:13, 15-17) She exemplified Peter’s words: “Do not let your adornment be that of the external braiding of the hair and of the putting on of gold ornaments or the wearing of outer garments, but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible apparel of the quiet and mild spirit, which is of great value in the eyes of God.”

31. “형제들아 내가 너희에게 나아가 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 아름다운 것으로 아니하였나니 ··· 내 말과 내 전도함이 지혜의 권하는 말로 하지 아니하고 다만 성령의 나타남과 능력으로 하여 너희 믿음이 사람의 지혜에 있지 아니하고 다만 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 하였노라.” (고린도 전 2:1-5) ‘바울’은 인상적인 말과 강력한 성품과 세상적인 지혜가 설득력이 있음을 알고는 있었지만 참 숭배를 발전시키는 데, 그러한 것들을 사용하지 않았다.

2:1-5) While Paul recognized that impressive speech, a strong personality and worldly wisdom had persuasive power, he did not resort to such in his efforts to advance the interests of true worship.
