2. 19 구호 활동은 “서로 사랑하라”는 그리스도의 명령에 순종하는 아주 좋은 방법입니다.

19 Relief work is indeed an outstanding way in which we obey Christ’s command to “love one another.”

3. 유혹을 이겨내는 우리의 능력은 이제 계속해서 주님의 뜻에 순종하는 것에 근간을 두게 되었습니다.

Our ability to withstand temptation is now grounded in our continual submission to the will of the Lord.

4. 하지만 그 젊은 감독님과 마찬가지로 제가 살아오며 관찰한 바에 따르면, 의도적으로 “작고 단순한 일”7에, 사소해 보이는 일에 순종하는 사람들은 순종하는 그 행위 자체보다 훨씬 더 큰 신앙과 힘을 축복받게 됩니다.

Over time, that young bishop and I have observed that those who are deliberate about doing the “small and simple things”7—obeying in seemingly little ways—are blessed with faith and strength that go far beyond the actual acts of obedience themselves and, in fact, may seem totally unrelated to them.

Obedience to these set rules of operation actually means life to the receiver as well as to the giver.

6. 성서에서 아브라함의 아내 사라는 순종하는 아내의 모범으로 나옵니다. (베드로 첫째 3:1, 6) 하지만 사라는 필요한 경우에는 자기 생각을 말했습니다.

In the Bible, Abraham’s wife, Sarah, is held up as an example of a submissive wife.

7. 표면상으로는 그 한마리의 실제 뱀에게 한 말이었지만 그분은 뱀이 단지 이전에는 하나님의 순종하는 하늘의 아들이었던 초인간적인 보이지 않는 영자의 도구로 이용당하였을 뿐임을 아셨읍니다.

Seemingly God’s words were addressed to that one literal serpent, but He knew that it had only been victimized to serve as an instrument of a superhuman, invisible spirit person, one who had hitherto been an obedient heavenly son of God.

8. 따라서 병원 교섭 위원회 마련의 도움으로, 여호와의 증인은 피를 멀리하라는 여호와의 완전한 법에 순종하는 데 지원을 받고 있으며, 충절을 타협하지 않고 여전히 필요한 치료를 받고 있다.

So with the help of the Hospital Liaison Committee arrangement, Jehovah’s Witnesses are being assisted to obey Jehovah’s perfect law on abstaining from blood, not compromising their integrity and still getting needed medical care.

9. 예수의 말씀의 의미를 파악하여 합당한 동기를 갖게 되는 사람은 좋은 소식을 전파하는 일을 포함하여 선한 일을 이루게 될 것이다. 그처럼 올바로 마음이 감동되어 순종하는 것은, 역경의 폭풍이 휘몰아쳐도 끄떡없는 반석과 같은 토대를 마련해 준다.

Such rightly motivated obedience provides a rocklike foundation that will not wash away during storms of adversity.
