As the results of a comprehensive evaluation of the United Nations information centres conducted in 1996 and 1997 (A/AC.198/1997/6) demonstrated, the centres provide public information services to more than 40 organizations of the United Nations system, devoting an average of five work-months per information centre to this cooperation.

2. La loi vise à prendre en charge et à protéger les enfants en veillant à leur bon développement, en mettant en place un cadre et une approche favorables à l’enfant pour le jugement des affaires impliquant des mineurs, en consacrant le principe de l’intérêt supérieur de l’enfant et en fixant pour objectif la réinsertion de l’enfant.

The Act seeks to provide care/protection to children by catering to a child’s development needs, adopting a child-friendly environment and approach for adjudication of cases related to juveniles/children, keeping the child’s ‘best interest’ in mind and rehabilitation of the child as the goal.
