1. Breed Societies are affiliated to the International Caspian Stud Book.

2. By 1975 there were eleven mares and two stallions registered in the stud book.

4. By the 1970s, the Mérens was on the verge of extinction, with only 40 horses registered in the stud book.

6. In the 19th century, blood was added from other French draft breeds before the creation of a stud book in 1912.

7. At conferences in 1946 and 1947, the decision was made to breed Haflinger horses from pure bloodlines, creating a closed stud book with no new blood being introduced.
