1. 13 And the hand of providence hath smiled upon you most pleasingly, that you have obtained many riches; and because some of you have obtained more abundantly than that of your brethren ye are alifted up in the pride of your hearts, and wear stiff necks and high heads because of the costliness of your apparel, and persecute your brethren because ye suppose that ye are better than they.

13 또 은총의 손길이 너희 위에 극히 기쁜 미소를 지은지라, 너희가 많은 부를 얻었으되, 너희 중 몇몇이 너희 형제들의 것보다 더 풍성하게 얻었음으로 인하여, 너희가 너희 마음의 교만 중에 ᄀ자고하여지며, 너희 의복의 값짐으로 인하여 목을 뻣뻣하게 하고 고개를 높이 쳐들며, 너희가 너희 형제들보다 낫다 생각하여 그들을 핍박 하는도다.
