इस त्योहार के दौरान देवी अथेना के सिर के घूँघट को इसी सड़क से होते हुए ‘जुलूस घर’ (शहर के फाटक की बगल में है) से लेकर एक्रॉपॉलिस तक ले जाया जाता था।

4. The bier was a litter possibly made of wickerwork and having poles projecting from its corners that allowed four men to bear it on their shoulders as the procession walked to the burial site.

अर्थी एक तृणशैय्या थी जो सम्भवतः खपच्चियों से बनायी गयी थी और उसके कोनों से खम्भे निकलते थे जो, जैसे वह जलूस दफ़न स्थल की ओर जाते थे चार पुरुषों को अपने कँधों पर ले जाने के लिए सहायक थी।

लाला लाजपत राय के नेतृत्व में , पंजाब ने इसमें पहल की और 30 अक्तूबर 1928 को , लाहौर की सडकों पर ' साइमन , वापिस जाओ ' , ' भारत हमारा है ' , हत्यादि नारों के बैनर लिए एक शांतिपूर्ण जुलूस निकाला गया .
