मूल रूप से संख्या में दस, मूल कर्तव्यों की संख्या 2002 में 86वें संशोधन द्वारा ग्यारह तक बढ़ाई गई थी, जिसमें प्रत्येक माता-पिता या अभिभावक को यह सुनिश्चित करने का कर्तव्य सौंपा गया कि उनके छः से चौदह वर्ष तक के बच्चे या वार्ड को शिक्षा का अवसर प्रदान कर दिया गया है।

67. मृत व्यि > के प्रति वारिस के कर्तव्य मृत व्यि > की मृत्यु के बाद पहले वर्ष उसके वारिस का यह कर्तव्य है कि वह सोलह भोज दे ऋनमें हरेक अतिथि को भोजन के अलावा भिक्षा भी दी जाए अर्थात मृत्यु के पंद्रहवें और सोलहवें दिन इसके अतिरिक्त पूरे वर्ष मास में एक बार भोज दिया जाय .
