1. Interestingly, in his Synonyms of the Old Testament, Robert Girdlestone wrote concerning Abraham’s righteousness: “This righteousness was not absolute, i.e. such as would commend Abraham to God as a rightful claimant of the inheritance of sonship.”

Fait intéressant, dans son livre Les synonymes de l’Ancien Testament (angl.), Robert Girdlestone déclare ceci au sujet de la justice d’Abraham: “Cette justice n’était pas absolue, c’est-à-dire telle qu’elle aurait recommandé Abraham à Dieu comme un prétendant légitime à l’héritage du rang de fils.”

2. He is revealed to us as a holy God, absolutely pure, clean, incorruptible, undefilable, faithful, constant, and wholly devoted to righteousness.

Il nous apparaît comme un Dieu saint absolument pur, incorruptible, fidèle, constant et entièrement dévoué à la justice.

3. (Job 29:4) Job was not bragging when he recounted how he ‘rescued the afflicted, clothed himself with righteousness, and was a real father to the poor.’

Job ne se vantait pas lorsqu’il rappela qu’il ‘délivrait l’affligé, qu’il avait revêtu la justice, et était un vrai père pour les pauvres’.

4. Let us make our homes sanctuaries of righteousness, places of prayer, and abodes of love that we might merit the blessings that can come only from our Heavenly Father.
