Regarding the colon, a disturbance in the electromechanical characteristics was found in irritable bowel syndrome, bacterial overgrowth in the small bowel, chronic constipation, and idiopathic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, which is probably identical with the clinical picture of adynamic ileus.

En ce qui concerne le côlon, on a constaté des modifications des caractéristiques électromécaniques dans les cas de colopathie par irritabilité, pullulation microbienne dans l’intestin grêle, constipation chronique, pseudo-occlusion intestinale idiopathique, cette affection étant probablement identique à la manifestation clinique de l’iléus adynamique.
