In the laboratory, spruce (Picea abies) was identified to be sensitive to exposure to trichloroethylene, with significant reductions in the photosynthetic pigments, chlorophyll-a and β-carotene being observed following exposure to concentrations of trichloroethylene as low as 10.8 μg/m3 for 5 hours with simultaneous irradiation.

Lors d’une étude transversale menée auprès d’un groupe de 21 personnes dont l’eau potable renfermait entre 63 et 400 p.p.b. (ou μg/L) de trichloroéthylène, ainsi que d’autres solvants, on a observé une différence importante de la latence de conduction moyenne des fonctions réflexes du clignotement par comparaison à 27 témoins «non exposés» (Feldman et coll., 1988).
