Überlebenszeit: 7 Tage. Neuropathologisch fand man einen Zustand nach typischer Kraniotomie bei subduralem Hämatom nach Brückenvenenabriß und Blutungen aus ausgedehnten Contusionsherden.

5. Life-threatening emergencies requiring immediate transfer are rare in the specialty of neurosurgery: patients with subdural hematoma or occlusive hydrocephalus should be promptly transferred, while trephination for acute epidural hematoma can if necessary also be performed by a surgeon on-site.

Lebensbedrohliche, eine sofortige Verlegung erfordernde Notfälle des neurochirurgischen Fachgebiets sind selten: Patienten mit subduralem Hämatom oder Okklusionshydrozephalus sollten rasch verlegt werden, die Trepanation des akuten epiduralen Hämatoms dagegen kann im Notfall auch vom Chirurgen vor Ort durchgeführt werden.
