3. Regular events include both an annual reception, which brings future fellows and alumni together with representatives from culture, politics, media, the sciences and humanities, as well as the commemoration of the Burning of the Books on May 10, 1933.

Zu den regelmäßigen Veranstaltungen zählen unter anderen die jährliche Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House Nacht, zu der alle ehemaligen und kommenden Stipendiaten sowie Gäste aus Kultur, Politik, Wissenschaft und Medien eingeladen werden, und die Veranstaltung im Gedenken an die Geschehnisse der Bücherverbrennung vom 10. I am not speaking solely as a Frenchman and an anglophile, but as a European militant who, one year away from the centenary of the Entente Cordiale, would like you, Mr President, to associate our institution with the commemoration of an event that led to a century of community, blood and glory and which is thereby a founding event of the European Union.

Ich spreche hier nicht nur als anglophiler Franzose, sondern als Kämpfer für Europa, der ein Jahr vor dem hundertsten Jubiläum des Vertrags zur Entente Cordiale den Wunsch hat, dass Sie, Herr Präsident, sich dafür einsetzen, dass unsere Institution sich an der Würdigung eines Ereignisses beteiligt, das am Anfang eines Jahrhunderts einer in Ruhm, aber auch Blut verbundenen Gemeinschaft stand, und das in diesem Sinne die Europäische Gemeinschaft mitbegründet hat.
