According to the standard data form submitted by Italy in November 1998, it hosts a number of birds referred to in Annex I to the Birds Directive – the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), the peregrine (Falco peregrinus), the honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus), the hazel hen (Bonasa bonasia), the ptarmigan (Lagopus mutus helveticus), the black grouse (Tetrao tetrix), the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) and the black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius) – as well as the migratory birds the sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus), the common buzzard (Buteo buteo) and the wallcreeper (Tichodroma muraria).

Es beherbergt ausweislich des von Italien übermittelten Standarddatenbogens vom November 1998 eine Reihe von Vögeln des Anhangs I der Vogelschutzrichtlinie – den Steinadler (Aquila chrysaetos), den Wanderfalken (Falco peregrinus), den Wespenbussard (Pernis apivorus), das Haselhuhn (Bonasa bonasia), das Alpenschneehuhn (Lagopus mutus helvetica), das Birkhuhn (Tetrao tetrix), das Auerhuhn (Tetrao urogallus) und den Schwarzspecht (Dryocopus martius) – sowie die Zugvögel Sperber (Accipiter nisus), Mäusebussard (Buteo buteo) und Mauerläufer (Tichodroma muraria).

2. The Commission also submits that the agricultural areas are important hunting grounds for the Levant sparrowhawk (Accipiter brevipes), the long-legged buzzard (Buteo rufinus) and the Eurasian eagle owl (Bubo bubo), which are listed as breeding birds on the standard data forms and are expressly mentioned in the assessment of the SPA.

Die Kommission trägt auch vor, dass die landwirtschaftlichen Flächen wichtige Jagdflächen des Kurzfangsperbers (Accipiter brevipes), des Adlerbussards (Buteo rufinus) und des Uhu (Bubo bubo) sind, die als Brutvögel im Standarddatenbogen aufgeführt und bei der Bewertung des BSG ausdrücklich genannt werden.

4. According to the Commission’s submissions concerning alleged losses of territory, this must be assumed to be true, inter alia, in the case of the following species listed in Annex I to the Birds Directive, which also appear on the standard data forms for the two SPAs: the pied wheatear (Oenanthe pleschanka), the calandra lark (Melanocorypha calandra), the greater short-toed lark (Calandrella brachydactyla), the stone curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus), the long-legged buzzard (Buteo rufinus), the Levant sparrowhawk (Accipiter brevipes) and the European roller (Coracias garrulus).

Nach dem Vorbringen der Kommission zu den angeblichen Gebietsverlusten ist dies u. a. für die folgenden, in Anhang I der Vogelschutzrichtlinie aufgeführten Arten anzunehmen, die auch im Standarddatenbogen der beiden BSG aufgeführt sind: den Nonnensteinschmätzer (Oenanthe pleschanka), die Kalanderlerche (Melanocorypha calandra), die Kurzzehenlerche (Calandrella brachydactyla), den Triel (Burhinus oedicnemus), den Adlerbussard (Buteo rufinus), den Kurzfangsperber (Accipiter brevipes) und die Blauracke oder Mandelkrähe (Coracias garrulus).
