1. In normal as well as in tar treated acanthotic epidermis the respiratory enzymes, succinic acid dehydrogenase and cytochrome oxydase, could be demonstrated only in the stratum basale, the stratum spinosum, and in the lower layers of the stratum granulosum.

Bei Virusacanthomen können in den ballonierten Zellen des Stratum spinosum und granulosum alle Übergänge von multivesiculären Körpern (MVK) zu Keratinosomen beobachtet werden.
