1. Allein aus einer innigen Gemeinschaft mit Dir erwächst die echte, wirksame, wahre apostolische Tätigkeit.

Authentic, effective and true apostolic action can only come from intimate communion with you.

2. Herzlich grüße ich Sie, Ehrwürdige Mutter Äbtissin, und Ihre Mitschwestern, und ich erneuere Euch meine Dankbarkeit für die bedeutende apostolische Arbeit, die Ihr auf den Spuren der schwedischen Heiligen für die Einheit der Christen insbesondere in Europa leistet.

I cordially greet you, Mother Abbess and your sisters, renewing my gratitude for the important apostolic work you carry out at the service of Christian unity, especially in Europe, following in the footsteps of the great Swedish Saint.

3. „Aber die, welche sagen, es gab eine Zeit, da er nicht war; oder er war nicht, bevor er gezeugt wurde; oder er sei aus Nichtseiendem, oder die sagen, der Sohn Gottes sei aus einer anderen Substanz oder sei erschaffen oder veränderlich, verflucht die Katholische und Apostolische Kirche.“ *

“But those who say there was a time when he was not; or that he was not before he was begotten; or that he was made from that which had no being; or who affirm the Son of God to be of any other substance or essence, or created, or variable, or mutable, such persons doth the Catholic and Apostolic Church anathematize [curse].”

Auch heute geht es darum, die Gläubigen dahin zu führen, ihren Blick in Anbetung auf das Geheimnis Christi, Gott und Mensch, zu richten, um zu Männern und Frauen verinnerlichten Lebens zu werden, zu Menschen also, die eine Berufung zum neuen Leben, zur Heiligkeit, zur Wiedergutmachung, die apostolische Zusammenarbeit zum Heil der Welt ist, empfinden und leben, Menschen, die sich auf die Neuevangelisierung vorbereiten, indem sie Christi Herz als Mittelpunkt der Kirche anerkennen: Die Welt muß unbedingt verstehen, daß das Christentum die Religion der Liebe ist.

The faithful still need to be guided to contemplate adoringly the mystery of Christ, the God-Man, in order to become men and women of interior life, people who feel and live the call to new life, to holiness, to reparation which is apostolic cooperation in the salvation of the world, people who prepare themselves for the new evangelization, recognizing the Heart of Christ as the heart of the Church: it is urgent for the world to understand that Christianity is the religion of love.
